Posts: 684 (02/28/08 11:01) TZ Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite	I think that was absolutely the best episode of the season thus far. Good early episode drama with Jonathan / Cirie and then throw Eliza in there too. Loved the immunity challenge that hearkened back to the one in Fiji ("Michelle trapped in the spinning hub of Ravu!"), loved the Favorites' sweep of the challenges. Not such a big fan of OZZY of all people finding the idol, but it's pretty much a foregone conclusion that the biggest challenge threat will find the idol each and every season, so not a big surprise I suppose. Loved the tribal council. Loved Jason cutting off Probst as he was being told to go vote. That was great! Probst's expression was priceless; reminded me of Billy's love confession in the Cooks. And of course, loved the blindside with "Mikey B" going. Only a couple more rounds of survival and Kathleen is like good to the final 6! Love that it's evened up going into a tribal switch, which should hopefully produce two new evenly mixed tribes. Should be good!

I love Tracy right now. I couldn't believe Jason pretty much stopping Jeff in his tracks. Holding his hand up and everything. Is it just me, or does Natalie look like she's sad about EVERYTHING?

She's playing hard, and I love it. With a tribal shuffle looming, I think her position in the game can only improve. My favorite Fans: Kathy, Tracy, Erik, Alexis I'm fans of these Favorites: Cirie, Jonathan, Eliza MY PICKS, Eliza & Alexis, seem to be doing well. Alexis apparently moreso than Eliza, but I'm confident Eliza's spunk will carry her far. Do you guys think we'll go back to a Final 12 jury stage this season? And when do you think we'll get some double-tribals? They've gotta be coming soon...

Something I always wanted to see happen on Survivor finally happened when he did that, he set up a boot then voted for the other person. Hilarious. Joel's a beast. I can't believe Cirie actually has any power. For the longest time my picks for the first three Favorites boots were Foreplay, Yau, then Cirie as three outsider. So, I'm pleasantly surprised she is actually in this game. Good stuff. Why couldn't they go for Jason over Mikey? That guy sucks, and it would have been fun to continue the Mikey vs. Joel scenario with Joel cutting off both of his legs in Mary then Jason, especially if they were to be switched to different teams next time around. I wish they'd show a few people more, like Erik. Currently I wouldn't mind seeing an Erik, Joel, Tracy, Ozzy, Jonathan, or Cirie victory. Kathy would be funny though. That's two great ones back-to-back. I love that Joel got out before Chet. "Mikey B" is probably having a great laugh right now. Tracy's by far my favorite Fan. Last week it was all about being Joel's best buddy. This week..."let's kick his butt out of here!" Cirie's my favorite Favorite, simply because she continues to surprise me. Like Feen, I thought she would be an unfortunate early boot, but it doesn't look like she's going anywhere for a while. She's taking charge and doing so in a non-threatening way. I hate that Yau had to take the fall because of her, but she still rocks. If my favorite Fan and my favorite Favorite teamed up...well, that would be amazing. Jason and the fake idol next week...is there seriously no one better in this game to find that? He's such a douche; I hope he seriously believes it's real like we're led to believe in that preview. Here's to hoping he pulls a bigger Jaime than Jaime did last season and plays that stupid-looking thing! Just a side-note, but I'm so glad Ozzy's totally owned him in their 2 or 3 one-on-one matchups. Wait, next week, AMI SPEAKS? This cannot be. I hope she votes with the Fans against Ozzanda the next tribal they go to. And if Jonathan has to leave the game due to an injury, I will be pissed.

I'm worried, however, for Eric next episode. He voted with Chet last round, believing that Mikey B. was the better idea to strengthen their tribe. However, he changed this time around. Also, I love how Tracy willingly speaks up about almost anything, such as how she pointed out that Joel pretty much smashed Chet around. I don't understand their reactions to Chet. Yes, he's weak. But they fail to acknowledge the fact that he's OLD and therefore he's likely to not be in the best physical condition, especially if he's being drug around with his head smashing off of wooden logs. Why did Jason find the fake idol? He's so... unimportant. The only thing I can think of that he's done that's of any notability so far this season is stop Jeff from starting the vote last week. He's not that great, and I can't believe he would actually think that that STICK is an idol. How? How could he think that? Moron. It's just a stick. There's nothing remarkable about it at all. All the idols always have some type of design on them. It would be much worse for him to play that than it would've been for Jaime to play that fake idol last season, since at least hers had some resemblance to the real one.

Right off the top of my head... * NOBODY knowing anyone's name during the tribal switch: "Troy," "Big Blue," and of course, the return of "Poverty"! * James lovingly saying "Hey baby" to Natalie upon joining new Airai * Chet exclaiming "Chetty's here, Chetty's here!" upon walking over to new Malakal; Joel's subsequent "Oh my gosh" * Joel dragging Chet along the obstacle course like a rag doll * At the end of the reward challenge, Chet complaining that he hit his head, with Joel replying "I don't care" * James saying (again) he was amazed these people (the Fans) were still alive after this long * The great shot of the tide taking out Airai's fire * Chet being referred to "sack of potatoes," "sack of goo," and "sack of bananas" all in one episode * Chet hanging out with the chickens and associating with them; he's so ridiculously pathetically hilarious * Amanda "catching" a shark (yeah, right) * At the immunity challenge, the grand return of Jonathan's complaining and Probst's verbal retaliation What would have been a GREAT moment is if Ozzy would've hidden his idol in that cave and then switched over to Airai. We missed out! The first episode sucked, but the next four episodes have been excellent. Really great strategical stuff going on, all EARLY pre-merge. Should hopefully be a sign of a great post-merge to come.

And yeah, I see that you're saying "caught" in quotes, so I know you're on the same level as me. Lol. If she had caught that shark, the cameras probably would've shown it and glorified it. In this game, they did not. It was already in the net, so even if she did kill a shark, pretty much anyone with something sharp could've killed the shark that's already caught.

Tom said everything I wanted to say. Didn't you question my dislike of Jason before, Tom? I see now you agree with me. I wish he and Erik would switch spots with Jason again being on the outside. Erik was playing a good sidekick game with Joel. Now he's on his own. For all the talk of Jason wanting to be like Ozzy, they always seem to show Erik talking about wanting to beat him (episode 1, something that I thought might means he is the winner, as he "beat" the guy who did the best out of al the favorites… that's just me over thinking, probably), or saying how much he admires him (episode 5). I too hope Amanda gets the boot next time they lose from Ami and the fans. Hate that Cirie gave Parvati and Ozzy power. Ozzy has the idol and doesn't need any more help from Amanda. Still, I am feeling that things will backfire on Ami. Cirie hasn't trusted her since Ami voted for her. For some odd reason, Ozzy and Amanda seem to be listening to Cirie, who is really just trying to put herself in the best position. I can see Erik siding with them to boot Ami instead of Erik siding with his fellow fans (maybe letting his judgment get clouded, as he said). I'm still sticking with Parvati to win from the favorites group. I would switch to Tracy from the fans. Has there ever been this long a string of guys being booted early? Also, I wonder how many more blindsides there are. Probst said a record number, but he always says shit like that. Still, 3 episodes out of the first five are damn impressive. My picks for the top ten, assuming that is when the merge hits and simply based on my gut, are: Alexis, Amanda, Cirie, Eliza, Erik, James, Natalie, Ozzy, Parvati, Tracy This is a woman's game, so it seems. Though I thought Joel was at least top 12/11/10 bound, so that goes to show what I know.

One thing I couldn't understand is why Chet and Tracy voted for Erik, whilst Erik voted for Chet? Was it to make it seem like there wasn't anything different going down? Tracy's in trouble next episode if they lose, I think, which sucks. Erik may stand a better chance than her. Also, it sucks a LOT that Jonathan had to leave the game due to injury. I hate it when that shit happens to an entertaining castaway. I thought his exit was a bit dramatic, particularly from Kathy, "We need you, Jonathan! I need you!" Yeah, um, a bit much, but whatever. Chet should be proud of how far he made it considering how long he was on the chopping block. However, I think if they had gone with the plan to boot Ozzy, Chet might have made it really really far. Once he passed the tribal portion of the game, he wouldn't have to worry as much about challenges as he could just put minimal effort into them. Also, why did they only show the votes for Chet, and none for Erik?

So much for talking Survivor with you anymore. Sucks what happened to J-Penn. Dayum. They still coulda booted Ozzy, Cirie, or Amanda even without Chet. Just cause a tie 3-3-1 and then in the re-vote, Chet doesn't vote and either would Ozzy should they have voted for him. The it woulda been 3-2. Or I woulda asked Chet to help vote one of them out then just quit the next day. Probst probaly would have tried to force him to quit like Janu or something, but it would have been worth a try, and take out 3 players (Ozzy, Chet, and Penner) in the span of two or three days. Looks like we'll finally see a female winner after awhile. I don't see James or Jason winning. Ozzy and Erik are maybes. By the way, why did Probst only show the Chet votes? Why not ask that from the first episode of this year? He only showed Foreplay's votes. He's done it a few times in other seasons when the vote is an obvious slam dunk and there's really not any strategy involved. He hates quitters so I guess he wants to get it over and done with. One other I remember is the first guy out from Guatemala, the older guy who hurt his arm. I remember he said he voted for someone based on them all picking straws, so the vote didn't really mean anything. I read the article after the episode... nobody read what I say next.. this is mainly to Tom..... I'll bet Kathy is the one who quits. Seems obvious from the preview. Then from there I say Eliza or Ami goes, just based on what we've seen so far.

Seems kinda obvious at this point...though Probst also promises a "Survivor first" for the upcoming episode, so I wonder what that could entail... And I don't consider TV Guide articles as spoilers. Especially if it's freely delivered to my door. But anyway, I cried when Penner had to leave. He had me misty-eyed when he got up to leave and whimpered to his tribe, "See you guys...at the reunion..." Usually you have medevacs where the forlorn person is utterly unconscious or in pain and can't respond to anything (Bruce, Da Smurf), so this was weird to see a person seemingly okay walk on his own two feet and get on a boat all by himself (with a great parting handshake from Probst). It's not fair. Why couldn't NATALIE have been injured? Losing Penner sucks big time, especially since he really was geared up to go far with an alliance between himself, Eliza, Alexis, Natalie, Jason, and Ami (come merge). Oh well; the game goes on. At this rate, the men will be extinct in a couple more episodes...

We already had two blindsides in a row and Probst has promised a flourish of them this season, so they had me going that the Fans and Ami would all turn on Ozzy. Not that I would have wanted to actually see Ozzy naked or anything...but it would have been one of the top tribal council moments ever.

These last two episodes I was waiting to see an amazing move to get rid of Ozzy, but it has yet to happen. The funny thing is that if Chet hadn't been such a little bitch and decided to basically quit on his tribe, they could have totally done it. Whatever. I'm so pissed that Tracy's gone.
